This Website is under construction and page content and new pages will be added in future days.

The Anderson County Kansas Historical Society was founded on January 6, 1968. In the fall of 1968 a room was acquired on the 2nd floor of the courthouse in Garnett for a museum.

On December 1, 1971, the Farrow Building, 5th and Main was opened for additional displays. The museum was located there until February 4, 1992.

It opened at the present location when the old Longfellow School building, at 6th Ave and US Highway 59, was accepted by the Society for the Anderson County Museum on that date.
